Cisco VOIP System
The first step is to configure a Cisco VOIP system to work properly on its own. It should be set up to use the SIP protocols . The Cisco call manager will register with voipGATE as a gateway. Although the details of how to set up a Cisco VOIP system in SIP mode are beyond. A good Cisco document that describes the function of the SIP Trunk is : “Understanding SIP VOIP ”

Configuration of an Route Pattern
There must be a well thought-out dial plan to use for the entire installation. Users will need to be able to call from the Cisco system to the Voipgate system and vice-versa by dialing a specific set of digits.
For example, if you set up the Callmanager an Route Pattern of "*.0!#" then, when users on the Cisco Call Manager stations dial "*.0!#" , the Callmanager will automatically route the call to the voipGATE Server .
